In our last post, “Where’s hot in May”, we suggested you might like to visit some of the Greek islands and one of the best ways to see the islands is to ‘hop’ between them.
The majority of Greek Island Hops begin and end in Athens and over a two week holiday, you can probably fit in between five and seven islands. One of our favourite Greek island hop itineraries is around the Cyclades islands. There are around 200 of these islands so there’s no way you will be able to tick them all off in one go but we think the example itinerary below provides a good mix between the most popular islands, such as Santorini and Mykonos, with the smaller, less touristy islands.
Day One and Two
Mykonos is one of the easiest islands to arrive on, so this is a good place to start, with it’s fabulous beaches and lively town. You may even have time to visit the Internet casinos.

Mykonos
Day Three and Four
Next head to Naxos where you can visit the Archaeological Museum, the Portara and castle and still have time to relax on the white sandy beaches before paying a visit to the Black Jack Casinos.
Day Five, Six and Seven
From Naxos you can take a ferry to Paros, which has a mountainous interior, so is a good place to rent a bike and head out for a bit of an explore (don’t miss the Hundred Doors Church). There are also a lot of pretty port towns in Paros, in particular Naousa is definitely worth a visit.
Day Eight and Nine
Next on the itinerary is a visit to Milos, which is a lower key version of Santorini and where the Venus de Milo was originally found. You could also add in an extra island hop here if you wish and spend a night on Kythnos, one of the other quieter islands, and brush up on your Keno Regeln.
Day Ten, Eleven and Twelve
Spend the next three days in Santorini which most people want to see for it’s volcanic harbour and the famous whitewashed architecture. Also take some time to visit the Prehistoric Museum of Thera and swim off the black sandy beaches at Kamari and Perissa.
Day Thirteen & Fourteen
We round off the island hop with a visit to Crete where you can take in all it’s archaelogy and mythology before taking a well earned rest on one of it’s many beaches.
