One of my favorite places to visit is Grand Isle, Louisiana. Grand Isle is a small town located on an island in the Gulf of Mexico. My family and I try to go at least once every summer. They have beautiful cabins in various sizes that you can rent out right on the beach. Some of the cabins are large, capable of sleeping around 20 people. You can also get cabins coupled together, making this a great place for family reunions. A lot of the cabins include large pots and pans to assist you with crab and crawfish boils. You gotta love that cajun food!
The island has small shops where you can get anything you need, from groceries to Grand Isle sweatshirts. Louisiana is known for being hot and humid, but being right on the beach gives you a nice ocean breeze. Also the island has ice shops where you can get ice cream filled frosty’s. I have never heard of one of these before going to Grand Isle, and they are delicious on a hot day.
Grand Isle isn’t a very busy island either. Mostly used by people in the nearby areas to get away, you can enjoy a beautiful beach, and a tropical type of environment, without all the craziness and people. You will need to wear sunscreen, and not stay out too long in the sun. I found myself with quite bad sunburn after my last trip. I would definitely recommend grand isle for any sun chaser.
